Comments:

I graduated from El Paso High School and then Texas Western college with a Business Admin. degree. After college, I went to work for the Aeronutronic Division of Philco Ford in Irvine, CA., for a little over a year until being accepted into graduate school at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. I was there for three days when I got my draft notice and had to leave school for a tour of duty with the US Army. I served from 1967 until 1969 during which time I was stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso and Sattahip, Thailand. As soon as I got out of the Army and back to the states, I married Carol. We taught school for over 30 years, during which time, I completed a Masters Degree in Elementary School Supervision/Administration. Carol and I have been retired for about 9 year, and spend a good bit of our time traveling. Since retirement we have traveled in 31 countries, and hope to make it many more.

Our son and his family live in Tomball, Texas. He has a PhD. in Biochemistry from Texas A&M and is head of his company's biochemical laboratories at their research facility.

School Story:

Although not a School Story in the way this space was intended. The following is still a School Story: I recently wrote and published a book entitled: Little Bad Bubba, The Kid People Loved To Hate. The link to the publisher and book is provided below.

My book is really not autobiographical at all. I taught school for 30 years and came in contact with many, many students who had horrible lives, both at home and at school. I think most people wouldn't believe how terrible life can be for some of these kids today. Anyway, I wrote the book for them. I wanted to give them some hope. It's a sad book, interspersed with humor to keep them reading, with a good ending.

Charles (Bubba) Armstrong, Jr.

About the Author:

"Charles Armstrong was born-again as a child. He doesn’t remember the exact date. All he knows is that the moment Christ came into his life, he went from death to life and became a child of the living God.

In the years that followed, Charles often felt like he had let God down. He tried and failed many times to live the life he thought God expected of him. The harder he tried, the worse he failed, until he finally understood that no matter how hard he tried, he would never be able to do it. That’s when he realized that God didn’t even want him to try. What God wanted was for Charles to die to himself and trust Jesus to live His life through him.

The burden was transferred from Charles’ shoulders to His. It was a bright new day."

This is the story of Bubba Jackson, a thirteen-year-old boy whose dreadful life illustrates the fact that God, in His great love and mercy, never abandons us.

Bubba is the product of a broken home. His father deserted the family several years earlier, and he lives with his alcoholic mother, who resents being stuck with him. He makes terrible grades in school, is picked on by other students, and fails at practically everything he does.

Even though Bubba is desperate for love and acceptance, he often tries to get even with the people who have hurt him. This almost always results in terrible problems for everyone involved, until the one person he hurts the most leads him down a strange new path. For the rest of the story:
